your wings exist

and we only need to fly!

when this year started out i told myself i would ONLY take one class this year.
that class was to be Life Book.  last year was pretty much a blur
when it came to all the ecourses i had signed up for so i told myself and a few friends that
i needed to focus on just one class this year.
life book is a year long class that includes over
20 different instructors so it would be perfect and quench my thirst for learning.

last week, i was quietly checking my emails the other night and there in between
an email from a friend and an email that really should have gone into my spam folder was this:

i opened it and read it a few times.  i tried to log in and it worked!
i looked over at Matt and smiled.  then i got up and started thanking him
like a wife would do to her husband after he realized how much
she wanted to be a part of this class but was afraid of taking on too much
or spending money we should use for something more important like paying a bill.
but he kept insisting in between kisses that it was not him.
then it dawned on me that it really might not be him.
so i went to my facebook friends and asked around.

one person really kind of stood out in my mind as the potential gift giver.
she was at work but i still started spamming her message box.
sure enough, it was her.  she told me she had watched the first few videos and
she knew that i HAD to go on this journey with  her.
i am sooooo happy that she has brought me along with her!

i watched the first 3 videos.  i laughed, i cried and laughed some more.
it is so much more than the class itself that continues
to have me so filled with joy.  it was the thought of the gift giver.

simply stated:
she knows me.
and THAT is what fills me with so much love.

i had a bit of time yesterday and actually played in the studio.
here's a little birdie on a 5x5 canvas

i hope you remember that YOUR wings are there,
you just need to fly!

  1. That is an awesome friend, and the canvas is beautiful. I must admit that I'm hooked on classes, especially once I gave myself permission to work through the lessons on my time. Thank you again for inspiring me ♥

  2. I love it! That class sounds absolutely perfect for you. It sounds so inspiring! I can't wait to see what else you create. What a beautiful, thoughtful gift. I almost wish I was in that class instead of Life Book! Ha.

  4. Oh Michelle, I was really torn between doing Life Book and Art School 2. Whilst I was away on holidays I really considered doing both but the reality is I do not have the time. Anyway late last week I made the decision to do Art school 2. And now your post just confirms I made the right decision. I haven't started it yet (hope to this weekend) however I am absolutely sure it is where I am meant to be. I am so glad you will be there too. xx Jo

  5. Hey Girlfriend! I just popped over to see what you've been up to lately. I can't believe the similarities in our outlook for this new year. My word is FOCUS! I too decided that Lifebook 2013 would be the only class I took this year...yeah, right! I have found myself taking now less than 5 classes. I was so overwhelmed with all the classes I signed up for last year, including by the way the 1st session of Brave Girl Art School! If Melody is anything like she was for session 1 you are going to learn sooooo much! I love Melody and her art even though admitidly (hmmm sp?) I still have not finished the course but I have learned so much!
I agree with you that I am very ready for spring but alas, here in the woods at least I know we are a long way from it so for now I'll just be happy with the warmer temps forecast for today and tomorrow! :D
    Hugs,
    Beth

  6. Very pretty. I think focusing on one class will give you the time to focus on each project you work on so that it's the best you can do and not get side tracked to something else.

  7. So good to see your smiling face in the banner. Maybe next year I'll have time to take a class with you. I think it would be a blast!
